Long-running MMO, MapleStory has had to come to an unfortunate decision.
The team behind MapleStory 2 will be closing servers down on 27th May. The team posted a blog post to announce the closures, which will see a multi-layer shutting down process take effect.
Following maintenance on 18th March, Maple Merets and Meso Tokens will no longer be available to purchase. However, players are told they can still use up any Merets they currently possess in their inventories. This date also marks the time when qualifying refunds will be processed. We’ll detail them further down. The 18th also marks the beginning of some final in-game events and community events.
On 27th May, MapleStory 2 servers, website, forums, and Discord channel will all be closed down.
And then, finally, on 26th June, the customer support service will be discontinued, marking the last of MapleStory 2.

The Sun Sets Over Maple World
The game’s closure comes a mere two years after MapleStory2 was made available on Steam and Nexon Launcher. As such, the team are deeply saddened but feel this is the best course of action.
“…Ultimately we’ve decided that we will not be able to provide the type of service that would live up to your expectations. We took a hard look at the current state of the game and its future roadmap. Sadly [we] reached the conclusion that it would be difficult to maintain the long-term continuation of the game while remaining true to what made MapleStory 2 your MapleStory 2“.
