Konami published its full Tokyo Game Show line-up on Wednesday. The majority of titles shared are well known of ready. But there are certainly a number of surprises in store. This is Konami afterall.
The schedule of events hints at something special hidden in the wings. Konami lists a 45-minute show taking place on September 16 titled simply “Konami new release announced”.
“Voice actor Yuji Kaji will be invited as a guest to represent the fans of a series which is loved all over the world, on the announcement stage for a new Konami title,” it reads.

Yuji Kaji has voiced parts in a number of games throughout the Final Fantasy series
Kaji has previously leant his voice to a number of games, including a few from the Final Fantasy series. But that’s not to say his involvement hints at a series he has previously been involved in.
In our opinion, the reveal is more likely to be related to a smaller project. It’s unlikely to relate to Konami’s larger planned (and well documented) revivals, such as for Castlevania, Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid.

We don’t know what the Castlevania reboot will look like yet, but if Konami have drawn any inspiration from the Netflix show, colour us excited
Of the three, Castlevania looks to be the furthers along development wise, as reported by VGC last year. Meanwhile, Silent Hill 2 remake is understood to be in active development at The Medium developer Bloober Team. So far, sources agree this is likely to be a timed exclusive for PlayStation consoles (as well as PC).
Additionally, another episodic series of Silent Hill “short stories” is in development at a studio under Annapurna Interactive, the exceptional publisher behind games such as Sayonara Wild Hearts, Outer Wilds and Telling Lies.
