Is there a full-blown Nintendo Direct on its way?

Nintendo direct

We’ve had a decent few Directs over the past few months. All of them were about particular games. Last week we had the Animal Crossing stream. Since Christmas, we’ve also had Super Smash Bros. and Pokemon Sword & Shield Directs.

But we haven’t had an all-encompassing Nintendo Direct for a while. In fact, it’s the longest we’ve had to wait for one since the Switch was released in 2017.

Earlier this month, trusted Nintendo leaker Zippo predicted two Directs, including last week’s stream focusing on Animal Crossing: New Horizons. That potentially leaves one more to come, with today, Wednesday 27 February, the likely time. Zippo claimed that:

“There’s two Directs this month. You’ve already guessed what they obviously are. Not sure of the timing, but that February 20th stuff lines up for AC.

The fact that we’ve waited so long since the last full-blown Nintendo Direct is particularly interesting because of Nintendo’s bare release schedule for Switch exclusives in 2020.

As we know, a new Animal Crossing is coming on March 20. In addition to that, a remake of Xenoblade Chronicles is slated for release later this year.

Could it be Bayonetta 3? Keep an eye on updates from Nintendo to find out.
