IO Interactive Have Confirmed Work on Project 007

Hitman + James Bond = The Perfect Blend?

A new James Bond game has been announced as in development by IO Interactive, the studio behind the Hitman series, only known thus far as Project 007.

The game will be developed as well as published by IO, giving the implication that they have creative licence to put their own spin on an entry into the spy game franchise.

You can check out the teaser trailer below.

What a Theme Tune!

Featuring the classic James Bond theme song, that I have only recently got out of my head (yes, it’s straight back in), there isn’t much to go on.

But I’m sure this is all some people needed to bring on waves of nostalgia back to previous decent games in James Bind game history.

That’s right, we’re talking about Goldeneye, as well as the PS2 and Gamecube hit Nightfire and the surprisingly good Quantum of Solace on PS3 and Xbox 360.

The description states only “Earn your 00 status in a brand new James Bond video game to be developed and published by IO Interactive.

“Featuring a wholly original Bond story, players will step into the shoes of the world’s favourite Secret Agent to earn their 00 status in the very first James Bond origin story.”

Io Safe hands for Project 007?

Considering their pedigree from Agent 47 in the Hitman franchise, you’d think you can get a sense of what the game could be, dependent on what elements from the series they would bring to 007.

Hiding bodies, stealth gameplay, gadgets and multiple paths to your goal could be easily transferrable to the James Bond title, and who wouldn’t want to mix Agent 47 and 007, into… Agent 0047, I can dream right?
