Industry-Wide PUBG Battle Royale Tournament

How easy is it for you to play a video game? Pretty simple, right? Just turn on your PC or TV, console, and pick up your controller. Easy peasy….but we take such simple movements for granted.

This is where SpecialEffect comes in.

“SpecialEffect are putting fun and inclusion back into the lives of people with physical disabilities by helping them to play video games. By using technology ranging from modified games controllers to eye-control, they’re finding a way for people to play to the very best of their abilities. But they’re not just doing it for fun. By leveling the playing field, they’re bringing families and friends together and having a profoundly positive impact on inclusion, confidence, and rehabilitation.” – SpecialEffect Bio

SpecialEffect has announced on their Twitter today that PUBG Corp. and Sega Europe Ltd have collaborated with them to host a PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Games Industry BattleRoyale tournament on Friday, June 22nd, 2018 to raise money for their cause.

The champion will be determined by combining the scores of four games of PUBG. Tune in to see teams of four from companies such as Frostbite, Sumo, TT Games, PC Gamer, Splash Damage, Interior Night, SEGA, and Twitch battle each other while raising money for a great cause.

“It’s fantastic to see such an enthusiastic response to #ChickenForCharity from our friends across the games industry. Over the years we’ve had a lot of fun coming up with new ways to raise money through encouraging the competitive spirit between studios, such as our annual Wembley Fives tournament. However, this is the first time we’ve given them an opportunity to go head-to-head doing what they do best – playing games! We’d like to thank SEGA Europe for their support in helping to make this happen and PUBG Corp. for allowing us to use the phenomenal PUBG. We’re really grateful to everyone who has signed up to play and can’t wait to see who will be the ‘winner, winner’ at the end of the day!” – Tom Donegan, Events Coordinator at SpecialEffect

As of this posting, there are still a few team spots up for someone to grab, and if you are interested, don’t hesitate! Everyone is encouraged to take part! Just contact:
