Hollow Knight Inspired 2D Hack&Slash to Launch on Kickstarter

The wait for Hollow Knight: Sliksong is long, but it doesn’t have to be boring. Soon you will be able to back a new game on kickstarter and then wait for two games! Well, this new game is just as likely to release before Silksong. But I digress.

Crowsworn is a new game developed by new developer Mongoose Rodeo! The developer describes the game as “a dark action packed metroidvania… inspired by Hollow Knight, Devil May Cry, and Bloodborne”. If that doesn’t tickle your pickle, let me add some classics to your back-log. In any case, inspired is an understatement. This game is pretty much “what if Hollow Knight and DMC had a baby and then dressed it up in Goth attire”. The art style and animations are straight out of Team Cherry’s book. The gameplay is a DMC Hack’n’Shoot feast for the eyes. And the atmosphere is dark, eerie and… well… Bloodborne-y.

White Palace post-trauma, anyone?

In Crowsworn you play as a very stylish plague doctor exploring and slaying. From the looks of it, you will explore different bioms, interact with NPCs and slay all manner of monsters, demons, and apparitions. Combat looks very smooth, and it seems as if there will be a fair share of RPG elements mixed into the gameplay.

If you want to give the game a look, or even back it when it eventually launches on Kickstarter, you’re more than welcome to check out the trailer below:
