Help Us Support Charity Stream For Health in Mind

Recently, Resident Assistant for The Student Housing Company, Sean Forrest and the NPC’s (Nerds Play for Charity) reached out to us to help get the word out about their 24 hour charity stream for Health in Mind. Here at Any Button Gaming, we’re always excited to help support a good cause. As you can imagine, we were humbled by the opportunity to help promote this event.

Health in Mind is described as:

“Health in Mind is a Scottish charity promoting positive mental health and wellbeing. We offer a wide range of services including counselling, peer support, guided self-help, trauma support and information services.”

The charity stream is set to take place on April 18th, 2020 on Twitch, and expected to start at 9am running for a full 24 hours. It’ll include tournaments, speedruns, a 24 hour D&D Campaign, and other events. Everyone is welcome, and encouraged to invite their friends and family to the steams.

In a ‘practice’ event last year with a goal of £200 and a turnout of £471.75; hopes are strong this year with a target of £500. Sean reached out to Health in Mind, and they said the following.

“We’re thrilled that Sean has chosen to support us for a second year with his gaming marathon – he’s supporting the people who access our services, as well as raising much-needed awareness for mental health.”

Lynne Stanford, Fundraising Manager at Health in Mind

The primary channel for most of the charity events will take place on the main arranhouse channel, here. The 24 hour D&D campaign will be streamed on the canalpoint channel, here.

The following are some photos from last years stream event.

From left to right, moving down are; The team from last years stream, then Martin and Sean manning the main stream at McDonalds in the morning. In the next row we see James and Rina killing a 100% run on Legend of Zelda: Windwaker HD. Proceeded by Jack making chili for the runners. Finally we can see the Borderlands 2 setup, and Nathan who traveled a whopping 171 miles to take part in the event.

Altogether, the 24 hour stream is poised to be both highly entertaining, and dedicated to a great cause. So come on by to help support a good cause on april 18th, we look forward to seeing you there.
