GTA: The Trilogy Sitting at 0.6 on Aggregate Scores

Rockstar (infamously) released Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition just last week.

And, by the weekend, PC ports had been pulled with refunds being demanded.

What’s more, the game’s aggregate score is currently (as of midnight on 15/11/21) sitting on 0.6.

Out of 10!

This is based on 2,535 ratings from aggregate score site Metacritic.

The list of complaints and woes that reviewers have cited range from being a “port of the mobile versions of the games” to numerous bugs and glitches.

As mentioned above, Rockstar pulled the PC edition of the game from the Rockstar Launcher within 24 hours.

Which, in and of itself isn’t the worst thing to know about the PC release. The fact that you can’t play it even though you bought the game, on the other hand…

The Rockstar Support page noted;

“The Rockstar Games Launcher is now back online. However, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will remain unavailable to play or purchase as we work to remove some data files that were unintentionally included in the new versions of these games. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and we hope to have the correct versions of the games up and running for everyone as soon as possible”.

Further afield, the game hasn’t fared much better on consoles, either. The (currently) peaks at 0.9 on PlayStation 5. Meanwhile, the PS4 edition is sitting at 0.7, the Nintendo Switch version is at 0.6, and both Xbox One and Series X editions are at 0.5

I have been playing the Game Pass released San Andreas game, and, to be honest, my experience is okay. Not excellent, not terrible, just…okay. There have been no real detrimental issues I’ve come across yet. However, this is; A) provided via Xbox Game Pass so is cloud-based, and, B) only San Andreas. So, of the entire experience on offer, I am only having a third of it. However, I’m not exactly just looking at this through rose-tinted. I know this is far from the remaster that any of us fans were expecting.

I only hope that a fix can be provided before my physical copy is shipped out to me next month.
