On the 15th of September, 2021, Forza Motorsport 7 will reach End of Life status. What that means in real terms is that the game and all associated DLC will no longer be available to purchase. This will impact the Microsoft Store and it’s availability on the Xbox Game Pass.
But after this date players who already own Forza Motorsport 7 will still be able to download and play the game as normal. Additionally features like multiplayer and online services will still be accessible for those who own the game.
Forza 7 to be permenantly retired this September
For any Xbox Game Pass players who previously purchased DLC for the game, but not the game itself, its not all bad news. They will receive a token for the game through the Xbox Message Centre to continue playing Forza Motorsport 7. Token distribution will be up until August 2. However, if after that date if no token has been received, players are advised to contact Xbox Support. Note that unused tokens will expire on September 15, 2023.)
If you know someone who has yet to play Forza Motorsport 7, a discount is being offered on the game in the Microsoft Store until September 15th.
For anyone keeping an eye on the Rivals events via Microsoft’s esports partners, after September 15th, Microsoft will continue to provide content to support for competitions with new Rivals events coming soon, so there’s still plenty of racing action to be had.
