At around 09:00 GMT, Epic Games took down the servers for their increasingly popular game, Fortnite. This was to allow the new patch, V.3.1.0 to be released, and it sure is another good one.
Although not as hyped up as the V.3.0.0 update, this update brings plenty of new stuff to the game. A new named location, Lucky Landing has been added to the Southern edge of the island, and a new weapon, the Hunting Rifle has been added too. The new rifle doesn’t have a scope, and is effective at medium to long range. It only holds one round, so in anticipation of the new weapon, I’m thinking it’s going to be a Bolt-Action Sniper without the scope.
Plenty of weapon drop chances have been adjusted, involving the Burst AR, Revolver and the Tactical Shotgun. For specific chances and rarities, check here.
Also, there’s been some alterations to chest spawns and ground loot pickups in Snobby Shores, Tilted Towers and the industrial plot north-east of Flush Factory. All three locations have had chests and floor loot locations removed. 13 Floor Loot spawns have been removed from Snobby Shores, along with 4 chests. 8 Floor Loot spawns have been removed from Tilted Towers, along with 4 chests, and 4 Floor Loot spawns have been removed from the industrial plot near Flush Factory, along with 3 chests.
A new Dragonfire Auto Shotgun has been added to the Save the World mode, along with a new questline called Brave Beginnings.
New Battle Pass challenges were due to go live at around 09:00 GMT this morning, so expect these to be live as soon as the servers are back up. With new additions, also expect to see the new Hunting Rifle and the new location, Lucky Landing to get a mention in these challenges too.
That’s all the main updates in this patch, but there are plenty more technical updates coming when the servers are back online – for these, click here. The servers have just been put back online, get out there and let us know what you think of the new update!
