Final Fantasy 7: Remake Pre-orders could be at risk. On January 24th, 2020, Square Enix took to their Facebook to share some concerning news.
People who have pre-ordered Final Fantasy 7: Remake from the Square Enix Store will need to opt back in to get their purchase.
Those who don’t opt-in by February 28th will have their pre-order cancelled. Square Enix claims that the need to cancel pre-orders comes from the game being delayed.
Square Enix claims that automatic pre-orders are cancelled, they cannot be reinstated. This is due to limited quantities. These limited quantities could lead to upset customers who might miss their opt-ins.
Anyone who has pre-ordered will receive an email with a link to follow. Payments will be processed on February 28th if your pre-order has been opted in.
If you have pre-ordered from another retailer that’s not the Square Enix Store, you should be alright. It would not hurt to check with them due to the push back of the release date. If you haven’t received an email for Final Fantasy 7: Remake Pre-orders by February 28th, let the Square Enix Store know.
