Far Cry 6 details leak, causing headaches for Ubisoft.

As weeks go, this week is pretty bad for Ubisoft.

Following on from leaks for Watch Dogs: Legion on Monday AND Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla on Wednesday, you would think Ubisoft would have put a stop to any more potential leaks, alas you would be wrong.

Details have emerged about the upcoming Far Cry 6 on the Hong Kong version of the PlayStation Store, sending the internet into a frenzy.

The listing, now removed, displayed the artwork for the game, potential release date and a small synopsis about the game.

Within a few hours, the Far Cry Twitter account released a small teaser for the game, not only confirming it for Ubisoft: Forward but also confirming the rumours that Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad & The Mandalorian) will be the games main antagonist, Anton Castillo.

So what do we know?

The game takes place in the tropical paradise of Yara. Gamers will play as Dani Rojas, an inhabitant of Yara and guerilla fighter as you fight against Anton Castillo’s oppressive dictatorship.

The listing claims that Yara will be the largest map that players have ever seen in the Far Cry series to date, taking them from jungles to beaches and even Yara’s capital city, Esperanza.

Boomer, Far Cry 5’s best part.

Fangs for Hire, from Far Cry 5, makes a welcome return now renamed as Amigos for Hire, so you can enjoy burning Castillo’s regime to the ground with a furry friend at your side.

The incentive to buy the game increases as details show that gamers will receive a free digital upgrade to the PS5 version when it is released.

2-player multiplayer is also mentioned in the listing, however, there is no mention of the Far Cry Arcade which came with Far Cry 5 and gave players the chance to create their own levels and missions.

No doubt we will see more details emerge and an actual trailer at Ubisoft Forward on the 12th July, but whether this leak was intentional or not, the hype for Far Cry 6 is building.

Far Cry 6 is scheduled for release 18th February 2021 on all current and next-gen consoles.

Ubisoft Forward takes place from 11 am PST (7 pm GMT) on 12th July.
