Far Cry 6 Contains Sequences Where You Play In Third-Person

View Far Cry 6 in all its glory

Ubisoft’s Far Cry 6 seems to be following the more or less standardized formula prevalent in most Ubisoft games these days. In the latest installments of the Far Cry series players have been given more and more options to customize their main characters. However, the chance to give your own hero a personal look might seem pointless, seeing as Far Cry is exclusively a first-person shooter experience. Until now.

A Totally Different Perspective

Obviously, there are going to be cut scenes where you can see all of your protagonists but there are also playable sections in the game where you control Dani from a third-person perspective. This is what Far Cry 6’s narrative director Navid Khavari had to say about the subject, in an interview with Gamespot.

Players will also be able to see their character customizations in these highly-realized story beats. In Guerrilla Camps, this is also an opportunity for players to be able to see their fully customized character, everything from their backpack to their clothes.”

You will also be able to see Dani while using a so-called “Super Attack.” Whether this will prove to be in any way meaningful to the gameplay itself is still unclear. We fear however that this is just another way for Ubisoft to sell cosmetics via microtransactions. Far Cry 6 comes out on October 7th.
