While we wait for Far Cry 6, it seems another well-loved game in that franchise is making a welcome return.
First teased as part of the Far Cry 6 season pass, it looks like Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon will be getting its own release.
Popping up on the ESRB website (they handle all the ratings), the game has been christened with a mature rating and seems to be being released on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
Better than Cyberpunk 2077…..Probably
Now, as this is only a rumour, it’s best to take this news with a pinch of salt, as Ubisoft hasn’t ‘officially confirmed the news that it’s going to be standalone. However, it’s a good shout to think that this is what the ESRB rating suggests.
Now going by the track record, Far Cry 3 Classic Edition was released as part of Far Cry 5‘s Season Pass and then it went standalone, it’s likely that that’s what is going to happen to Blood Dragon.
It’s worth noting that the ‘Classic Edition’ tag may mean we are just getting the bare bones and no real upgrades… We’ll just have to wait and see.
In the meantime, Far Cry 6 is out October 7th across all consoles bar the Nintendo Switch. At this moment in time, it is not clear when Blood Dragon will be released.
