Elder Scrolls Online was the first game that I played on the PS4 and it will ALWAYS hold a very special place in my heart. I may not play it as often as I used to, but I just cannot let it go. When I return to playing it, it feels like a comfortable pair of slippers. Tamriel is home for me.
Earlier this year, a new chapter, Greymoor, was introduced and we found ourselves returning to the homeland of the Nords. The Elder Scrolls Online new DLC: Stonethorn builds upon the tales from the earlier Harrowstorm DLC and Greymoor Chapter.
So What Does the Stonethorn DLC Include?
Two new dungeons, of course: Castle Thorn and Stone Garden.
Castle Thorn; you must invade an ancient fortress to confront a Vampire army and its master before they are able to threaten Western Skyrim. Face a vampiric army in Castle Thorn
A Vampire army rises from the fortified halls of Castle Thorn, led by the keep’s master, the powerful Lady Thorn. you must assault the fortress, fight your way through this monstrous legion, and put a stop to their invasion!
Stone Garden; What hideous creations is the mad alchemist making hidden deep within a secret and mysterious laboratory? You will need to investigate and shut it down.
Uncover the secrets of Stone Garden; What terrible work has the mad Alchemist Arkasis concocted from within his secret laboratory? The dark creations of the Stone Garden found deep within the caverns of Blackreach. You and your party must confront the evil genius and his horrifying experiments, for fear that new monsters may arise from the depths!
And There’s More…
There is also one exciting update for the housing editor which has got the ESO fans chatting about and that is the Homestead Character Pathing. This will allow you to build paths for your abode’s many residents (including pets, mounts, and assistants) to follow. You can specify many locations (nodes) for each path. From there, pick their walk speed, add delays, and even decide whether they loop through to their original location, ping-pong back and forth along the path, or travel between nodes at random.
I am genuinely excited to try this out and see what mischief my assistants can get up to.
This is what can happen when you leave your gaming buddy alone in your house!
Also, you can expect the obligatory bug fixes (update 27), or should I say the “improvements to performance” and included with the DLC there will be new item sets and collectables.
Stonethorn DLC is due for release sometime in August, building on the Dark Heart of Skyrim storyline which concludes later this year with the release of Darkstorm DLC. Available on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Stadia
