If you haven’t heard of Elden Ring by now then we can only imagine you’ve nuzzled in safely under a rock. Social media is overflowing with discussion, and here at ABG headquarters, it’s a singular point of focus. Everyone and their wife seem to have taken a mini-break to the Lands Between. Love it or loath it, FromSoftware has hit the proverbial nail on the head.
Just yesterday parent company Bandi Namco announced that it had seen over 12 million sales in just three weeks from launch. For context, the entire Dark Souls series didn’t hit that benchmark until after the launch of Dark Souls 3. So Elden Ring sales have achieved what it took three whole games’ releases to match. In just three weeks.
This was revealed in a press release from Bandai and FromSoft. In it, they revealed that one million of those sales were in Japan, with the remaining 11 million coming from overseas. From creator Hidetaka Miyazaki,
“It’s astonishing to see just how many people have been playing Elden Ring. I’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks on behalf of the entire development team.”

Hidetaka Myazaki, the enigmatic tour de force behind critical hit Elden Ring
Yasuo Miyakawa, president of Bandai Namco said this on the astonishing success of Elden Ring,
“Much effort was placed into creating Elden Ring so that we could exceed the expectations of our fans worldwide. In like manner, we will continue our efforts in expanding the brand beyond the game itself, and into everyone’s daily life.”
Elden Ring is perhaps the first game to finally live up to the hype. Both critics and fans alike are thoroughly enamored by what is likely to be seen as a masterpiece in game design, and a crowning moment for FromSoft. If you’ve yet to dip your toe in the Lands Between, its available now on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X.
