By far the biggest event in the gaming calendar, E3 will be an all virtual event this year.
As confirmed by the ESA (Entertainment Software Association) via Twitter, the all-virtual event will ‘engage video fans everywhere… with major reveals and insider opportunities.’
While the ESA didn’t give any specific details about the event, they have said that the event will be FREE for all viewers, which may take the form of live streaming conferences and reveals.
Already confirmed for the event are Nintendo, Xbox, Capcom, Konami, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive, Warner Bros. Games and Koch Media. You’ll notice however that there are some a big names missing from the list.
Those currently absent include: Activision Blizzard, Electronic Arts, Sega, Bandai Namco, Square Enix and Sony.
Sony has pulled out of the last two events (2019 & 2020) in favour of hosting their own event, and it seems unlikely that they’ll join up later on, while most of the other companies may hold their own digital event to stand out from the noise of E3.
The ESA has already said the E3 2022 WILL be an in person event, meaning we’ll be able to ACTUALLY get a hands-on go with some of the games announced.
Content creators can sign up to co stream the event right now using a form available on the E3 website.
E3 2021 takes place on June the 12th till June the 15th.

Literally a giant. Living on the Border, trying to get through my Netflix/Disney+ lists whilst also completing the pile of games I have yet to play
