Following delays from multiple developers, Dying Light developers Techland joins the fray. Dying Light 2 has been delayed from their planned Spring 2020 release, with no indication of a revised release date.
Posted on Twitter, a statement from CEO Paweł Marchewka said:
“We were initially aiming for a Spring 2020 release with Dying Light 2, but unfortunately, we need more development time to fulfil our vision. We will have more details to share in the coming months and will get back to you as soon as we have more information”.
Since no firm release date has been announced, Techland is freed from restricting release dates. Hopefully, this will allow them to release the game in the best state it can be.
This has been a difficult week for many studios pushing back their release dates. Notable examples being, the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Marvel’s Avengers, and Cyberpunk 2077 although these have had rehashed release dates announced.
Hopefully, we can get a solid release date in the coming weeks. If we can be patient, I’m sure we can agree that a finished game will be worth the delays.
