Dragon Ball is among the most popular manga and anime franchises worldwide, many games had adapted DB in many ways offering different game experiences, however, one of the most successful and loved games is the fighting series Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi, and now after 16 years a new sequel is coming: Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi 4.
Bandai Namco, the company that holds the rights of the franchise, has just announced the game is coming, showing a teaser trailer during the DRAGON BALL Games Battle Hour 2023 event:
Fans of Dragon Ball and gamers alike are celebrating the comeback of the iconic fighting game, the last game in the series came out back in 2007, and is often celebrated as a great fighting game, it included all the characters created by Akira Toriyama, with an aesthetic that replicated the anime, and combat mechanics that translated very well the concept of Dragon Ball, giving players a fun fighting experience set in that universe.
After all this time for many reasons the franchise was abandoned, Dragon Ball in the game industry continued to be strong, and many other DB fighting games came out, like the recent Dragon Ball Fighterz, but fans and players always kept hope that Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi could return someday, fortunately, Bandai Namco is aware of the big potential of the series, and even with little to no information about the game, is already a hit for many people.
For now, there is no information about the game itself, but we know that Bandai Namco is a company that takes care of its IPs, and work to develop great game experiences, one example is Elden Ring, and in the same way, Dragon Ball is another important franchise for them, so is expected a quality game, not only updating the visuals but the gameplay will also be improved.
