Mario Strikers: Battle League Football receives some re-enforcement this month in the form of Pauline and Diddy Kong. Nintendo has previously stated its intentions of supporting the game and this is indeed the second wave of Mario Strikers DLC. The first batch of characters included Daisy and Shy Guy.
Pauline’s original Nintendo debut was back in 1981’s Donkey Kong where she played the damsel in distress, kidnapped by an evil, barrel-throwing monkey. She also appeared in Super Mario Odyssey reprising her role from the previous game. From the trailer we learn that Pauline is a powerhouse with high speed and strong tackles. Diddy Kong, on the other hand, is a midfield speedster. Donkey Kong’s red-capped sidekick has good technique and high pass accuracy.
In addition to Pauline and Diddy Nintendo is adding another arena called Planetoid as well as some new gear called the Barrel-set. The second wave of DLC for Mario Strikers: Battle League Football comes out sometime in September, however, we don’t have an exact release date yet.
