Destiny 2’s Agent Of The Nine salesman who goes by the name of Xur has returned for the weekend. Furthermore this week, he’s hanging out on the rig on Titan. If you look at your in-game map on your director, you shall find the Roman numeral IX. The tentacle faced salesman can be found east of the fast travel marker. His waypoint reads ” A peddler of strange curios, Xur’s motives are not his own”. Potentially delved further in the 2nd Expansion or later DLC… “He bows to his distant masters, The Nine”.
In Destiny 2, Xur changed his currency of choice from Strange Coins to Legendary Shards. While Strange Coins were relatively easy to grind for in the original Destiny, D2’s Legendary Shards are almost too easy to pick up. Meaning that every person who plays the endgame of D2 will likely pick up every gun that Xur can offer. His price for exotic armour is 29 shards, and weapons are 39 shards. Legendary Shards are easily available, available from dismantling Legendary Gear. Xur’s inventory for this week is as follows…:
- Wardcliff Coil – Rocket Launcher
- Mechaneer’s Tricksleeves – Hunter Gauntlets
- Crest Of Alpha Lupi – Titan Chest-piece
- Eye Of Another World – Warlock Helmet
Since the release of Season 2, Xur has also been selling Fated Engrams. These are slightly more expensive, taxing your guardian of 97 Legendary Shards, and are “guaranteed” to reward you with an exotic not currently in your collection. When these were first released, many engrams did not work as proposed, dropping current exotics already in collection. This, however seems to have been fixed in a previous hot-fix. There is a limit to these though, you may only buy a Fated Engram once a week, so if like me RNGesus is not your friend you could be waiting for weeks/months to get that sweet…sweet business.
While there is a lot of debate as to whether they are effective, Three Of Coins are also available. The Xur-exclusive consumable supposedly ” increases” the exotic drop rate for 4 hours, these however cost 31 Legendary Shards. And with lower effectivity than in Destiny, it is massively questionable as to whether anyone should be essentially wasting their shards on these.
Although there have been negative additions to Xur i.e the reduction in how good the Three Of Coins are, he now stays until the weekly reset the following Tuesday! So for the people up to their knees in weekend work, the squid faced phenomenon shall wait until Tuesday for your custom. This is also when Trials Of The Nine ends and weekly activities such as Nightfall strikes rotate. This means you’ll have until 5pm GMT on March 6th to arm yourself with something from his selection, plenty of time to get rid of unused legendaries! Grind, Guardian.
What’re your thoughts on Xur’s selection of weaponry this week? What are you going to pick up? Let us know in the comment section below!!
