Destiny 2 Raid beaten, gives new quests for all players

Bungie confirmed that clan Luminous beat the raid first, leading to rewards being unlocked for every Beyond Light player. All in a days work!

Destiny 2 ‘s latest expansion, Beyond Light, launched earlier this month, and it didn’t take long for the first raid of the new season to go live. Players were able to access the new Deep Stone Crypt over the weekend. So began the race for the game’s most experienced clans, who rushed to be the first to complete the new content.

Raiders were taken on a wild ride, first beneath the surface of new planet Europa, then up, amazingly, to a space station.

The station then crashed back to the planet below (more on that later) before the final boss-fight against returning Fallen mercenary Taniks.

Bungie confirmed on Sunday evening that it was indeed Destiny clan Luminous who won the race to finish first, wrapping up the raid in under 6 hours.

However, it was what happened after that which was the biggest surprise.

Immediately after the raid was completed, a flood of new content was unlocked for all Destiny 2 players. This included full-blown quests from Variks and the Exo Stranger on Europa, a new exotic quest from Banshee-44, as well as new sabotage missions and “Eclipsed Zones”, also on Europa.

The Eclipsed Zones, which involve debris from the Raid’s space station falling from the sky, is linked to the Stranger‘s quest, which gives a reward of a new sidearm.

Several new exotics are also available, most notably a new sword, The Lament, obtained from the aforementioned quest from Banshee. There is also some great new lore about the gunsmith’s past.
