Cyberpunk 2077 DLC Will Rival That Of The Witcher 3

CD Projekt Red was praised, pretty much, worldwide by gamers for their views on downloadable content. The Witcher 3 received numerous free updates, post-launch, as well as two massive, story-driven expansions. And now it seems that Cyberpunk 2077 will get the same treatment.

Q&A-Session For the Investors

CD Projekt hosted a Polish Q&A, not long ago, translated by VGC. The Q&A-session mentioned, among other things, the DLC-plans, for their upcoming game. The developers have already confirmed that we can expect DLC to be handled similarly as to The Witcher 3.

Adam Kiciński, CD Projekt president, said:

Cyberpunk 2077 will have “no less DLC than The Witcher 3 had” and that we can expect “a similar scenario to The Witcher 3”, in terms of release schedule.

That means that there will most likely be a string of free updates, following the game’s launch, while waiting for at least two major, story-driven updates.

What about Multiplayer?

The developers have said that they are treating the multiplayer-aspect as a secondary AAA-title. They also said that the multiplayer-mode will most likely not be out before 2022. Thus it will most likely not be included in the before mentioned DLC.

The studio has confirmed that the coronavirus shouldn’t cause any more problems with the release date, which is currently September. As with The Witcher 3, we can expect more info about Cyberpunk’s DLC to start dropping a few weeks before release.
