Chances are, if you’re a fan of CD Projekt Red, you enjoyed the length of The Witcher 3.
It’s one of the game’s most redeemable qualities amongst the community.
However, for some, the game was simply too long.
As a result, CDPR has decided to scale back Cyberpunk 2077‘s length. Speaking after the most recent Night City Wire stream, senior quest designer Patrick Mills said;
“We do know that the main story run in Cyberpunk 2077 is slightly shorter than The Witcher 3. We got a lot of complaints about The Witcher 3‘s main story just being too long. And, looking at the metrics, you see a tremendous amount of people played through the game really far, but never made it to the end”.
Whilst it may not be as appealing to have a shortened story, Mills added how it is, ultimately, a good thing;
“We want you to see the whole story. So, we did shorten the main story, but we have lots to do. And in terms of a completionist campaign, I just don’t have that number [in terms of game-length to achieve 100%]”.
So, hopefully, there will be a lot more people who can see everything that Night City has to offer. Cyberpunk 2077 goes on sale 19th November for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Google Stadia, and PC [with Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 versions available “soon”].
