Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time comes out October 2 and developer Toys for Bob just gifted us with a launch trailer for the game.
We know what a Crash Bandicoot game is all about, by now. A colourful mix of platforming, nefarious scientist, magical masks, and man-like marsupials. The formula is pretty well established. However, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time looks to be mixing things up a little. Judging by the onslaught of recent Crash 4 trailers, there seems to be a whole bunch of new mechanics to make the game feel fresh again. A perfect mix between nostalgia and modern innovation, in other words.
The new trailer shows off the many different characters in the game. You’ll be able to play as Coco, Dingodile, and Tawna, each with their own distinct levels and abilities. Every level that you can play as Crash you can also play as his younger sister Coco. Diner-owner Dingodile makes use of his iconic cannon/rocket launcher for some explosive problem-solving. Tawna, on the other hand, can be seen swinging across some western-looking backcountry. And finally, there is Crash himself. Crash uses the different quantum masks to stop time or reverse the pull of gravity throughout a multitude of flavoursome levels scattered perilous traps.
