Crash 4: It’s About Time is OFFICIALLY Revealed

Take THAT random leaks on the internet! With a tuuuuuune and a half from Fat Boy Slim, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 later this year.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is officially a thing.

Yes, we know there was a leak only a few days ago, but this is coming from Activision and Toys for Bob themselves.

So, it’s kinda officially official.

It’s About Time is set after the events of Naughty Dog’s original trilogy (the same one you play through in the recent N. Sane Trilogy remaster). Thus, we see what happens to Dr Cortex, Uka Uka, et al after another thrashing at the hands of Crash and Coco Bandicoot.

The great news for Crash fans is that Crash, Coco, and Cortex are all playable characters. The (potential) bad news is that Crash 4 seemingly forgets about the other games that came after Warped. However, this could be because those games happened after the OG trilogy. Or, simply because, for the most part, they were rubbish.

Regardless, Crash 4 also provides the players with some brand-new power-ups. It looks like wall-running is a thing, Respawn fans!

Twinsanity? Never Heard of It, Mate

Much like in Crash Bandicoot (Not 4): The Wrath of Cortex, you meet four new masks. This time around, it’s the quantum masks, masters over everything to do with time and space. One mask we see in the trailer allows you to slow down time, whilst another grant you power over the force of gravity. I can see both being a bit more helpful than the aforementioned Wrath of Cortex‘s Elemental masks.

Another potential point of dissention amongst the die-hard Crash fans is the new art style. It is a little jarring incomparison to the HD-ified N. Sane Trilogy, but Toys For Bob has a (somewhat) decent reason:

“Toys for Bob is excited to introduce a fresh visual direction for Crash that maintains the zany spirit of the franchise while also breathing unique personality and charm into it. Fans can expect wacky new worlds, lush epic vistas and an absurd variety of enemies and hazards”.

By this point in time, I think most people are happy he just doesn’t have tattoos anymore. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Currently, Nintendo Switch and PC were omitted. This doesn’t mean the game won’t be coming to either platform, of course. I guess you could say, (chuckle), it’s only a matter of time. See what I did there? Good wasn’t it.
