In light of the recent acquisition of Bethesda, many in the industry wonder what is next for Xbox.
Whilst it isn’t the first time Xbox has acquired a studio, it certainly is the most note-worthy one in recent memory.
However, could it be the last one?
There are rumours abound online of Microsoft looking to purchase other studios (including SEGA, if you can believe that). And it seems like Microsoft isn’t ruling anything out.
Speaking to CNET, Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella, said;
“We’ll always look for places where there is that commonality of purpose, mission, and culture. We will always look to grow inorganically where it makes sense”.

For clarity, ZeniMax and Xbox have worked together as far back as the original Xbox. Several Bethesda games helped make the burgeoning console stand out from the crowd. Whilst Nadella neither confirmed nor denied any possibility of future acquisitions, well, as the adage goes; never say never.
