As we all face the potential end-of-the-world (I joke, it’s not that bad, but don’t go licking any public toilet seats), many are finding comfort in video games.
And why not? They serve as, perhaps, the best form of escapism, after all. It will be interesting to see which games saw a surge in play count on Steam in a few month’s time. But I digress.
One of the most beloved games of the past decade, Fallout: New Vegas, is the latest casualty of the COVID-19 pandemic. Though, not in the same way that others have succumbed to it.
As reported by DSOGaming, New Vegas has recently received a new mod that brings the Coronavirus to the Wasteland.
Created by JotunYmir, the “Immersive Coronavirus” mod adds the consumable Bat Soup into New Vegas. Eat it, and you contract Corona. Simple.
Once you have the virus in your system, you have to do all you can to survive it – much like in the real world. Only with the added dangers of Rad-poisoning, warring Raiders, and hungry Deathclaws.
Currently believed to be the only Coronavirus-inspired mod on PC (seriously, guys. Where’s your sense of timing?), you can download the mod pack through Nexusmods here.
