Call of Duty: Warzone Has Two New Perks Coming in Season 5

Raven Software are looking to shake up Verdansk even more in Call of Duty: Warzone season 5 with the introduction of two new perks, with interesting effects to switch up your playstyle.

Season 5 of Call of Duty: Warzone will see the introduction of new perks, Tempered and Combat Scout to the Battle Royale. Raven have been pretty consistent with their changes to the game mode and the introduction of these two perks, could be the biggest impact of all, especially with the effects of Tempered.

Tempered, which looks to fundamentally change Armor values within Warzone. When an Operator is under the effects of Tempered, their Armor Plates are heavier and more reinforced – only two of them are needed for an Operator to be considered “fully armored” compared to the standard three. In other words, Tempered allows each Armor Plate to absorb 75 points of damage instead of the standard 50, but an Operator will only be able to wear two at a time instead of three. This unique change also comes at the sacrifice of your Perk 2 slot, so choose your perk setup wisely before bulking up with those reinforced plates.

Being able to quickly armor up with just two pieces of armor could be a game changer, with people ducking into cover and jumping back out with full armor much quicker than anticipated. As well as making your extra armor last longer due to needing less to fully armor up.

Combat Scout

With this Perk, Operators receive a burst of in-field intel, as damaging an enemy briefly highlights the foe in bright orange and automatically pings them. Whether it’s confirming a callout or finding someone cooped up in a building behind penetrable cover, this Perk only grows stronger if the Operator behind it can communicate effectively to their squadmates.

This could help with those pesky ambushes when you can’t always see who your friends are shooting at (we’ve all been there), giving you an opportunity to track other players once they’re hit. It’s nice to see a team oriented perk being introduced when more and more of Warzone is people rushing off solo and not communicating effectively with their squad.

Raven are also changing up the gulag once again to mimic a section of Rush from Black Ops II, as well as adding new points of interest to the Verdansk map and debuting new mode Clash for big multiplayer based Warzone battles.
