“But Can It Run Crysis?”

When a meme becomes a gameplay setting, you know you’re living in a mad world. PC players can see if their builds can, in fact, run Crysis with the “Can it Run Crysis?” settings.

It’s a line that has become synonymous with PC gaming. A line that is as witty as it is revealing about the hardware specs needed for the game.

"Can it run Crysis?"

Well, in the upcoming PC remaster – Crysis Remastered – you’ll be able to decisively answer that question.

Crytek has recently shown off the “Unlimited” settings mode in the remaster, which is now named “Can it run Crysis?”

“We want to show you, for the very first time, an in-game screenshot using the new “Can it run Crysis?” Graphic mode, which is designed to demand every last bit of your hardware with unlimited settings – exclusively on PC!”

Yeah, But Can It?

Funnily enough, as this was posted to Twitter of all places, the image was quickly squashed by users. Many claimed that Crytek’s own computer could not run Crysis, hence why the studio only posted a screenshot as opposed to a gameplay trailer. Others bemoaned that true ultimate setting wouldn’t have such badly mixed gamma, colour, and filter settings.

Regardless of whether Crytek can run Crysis, Crysis Remastered will be testing your PC as soon as you get it following the game’s 18th September release.
