A brief glimpse of what’s to come in the Bloody Harvest update.

The Borderlands 3 Bloody Harvest Event

While it may be themed around Halloween, the Borderlands 3 Bloody Harvest will begin on the 24th of October and run all the way through to the 5th of December. It will be available for the entirety of November. In order to participate in this event, you simply need to have access to Sanctuary III. This means you only need to have played the first part of the game’s story. During the event, a talking Saurian named Maurice will appear on Sanctuary III. He will serve as players’ in-game guide to the Bloody Harvest event.

According to Gearbox, Maurice offers a repeatable mission which players can complete to enter Heck; a strange and spooky otherworld. Players can get here by collecting Hecktoplasm from Haunted enemies, who will appear all throughout the game. They can be identified by an eerie green glow. In Heck itself, players will face undead Maliwan soldiers, spooky fauna and Captain Haunt himself; an undead version of the two Traunt family villains from the main story. Haunt serves as the event’s final boss.

As you fight in Heck, you’ll have the chance to find special event loot which includes both cosmetics and new legendary gear. There will also be Anointed weapons with a new mechanic called “Terror”. This debuff effect is used by Haunted enemies to impair your vision and aim. Additionally, there will be event-exclusive cosmetic items in the main game which you won’t need to go to Heck to find. To unlock them, you’ll need to complete new event challenges during Bloody Harvest.
