Treyarch have officially announced the dates regarding the upcoming beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Fans of the series eagerly await any news as to when they will get a chance to play. Well the wait is finally over, as Treyarch confirm the beta kicks off in August.
On August 3rd, players on playstation will get their first taste of the game. Ending august 6th, the beta resumes on august 10th, alongside Xbox this time. The fans will then get a further 3 days before the beta goes offline August 13th. PC players get a chance to play the game when a closed beta begins on August 10th, with the open beta August 11th. It is worth noting that all beta start and end times are at 6pm BST/10am PT.
During the beta, players will be able to play 5 modes across 6 maps, two of which are brand new.. Fans can expect the return of modes such as Team deathmatch, Domination, Search & Destroy and Hardpoint.
Control is the fifth mode. This new mode will see 2 teams try to control one point, with one team on attack and the other on defense. Each team will have a limited number of lives that they are able to use, and the first to three points will win the match. The pick 10 system is also making it’s way back. Players are able to customize and create their own loadouts, with up to 10 items in each.

Blackout is Call of Duty’s all new battle royale mode. A number of players drop onto the same map and hurry to find equipment. The beta for blackout will begin in September, however treyarch have not yet announced how many players are in a single game, what items will be in the mode, specific dates or console exclusivity.
Black Ops 4 is scheduled to be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on October 12th this year.
