Sorry Batman fans, but the caped crusader is DEAD in WB Games’ Gotham Knights.
Revealed at the DC Fandome event, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl and Red Hood take up the mantle of Gotham’s protectors after receiving a ‘Code Black’ transmission from Bruce himself.
Set in a completely separate universe to Rocksteady’s Arkham series and upcoming Suicide Squad game, Gotham Knights lets you take control of the four protagonists in solo or two-player co-op combat, facing off against The mysterious Court of Owls and familiar supervillains, like the ice pun himself, Mr Freeze.
With an RPG style gearing and levelling up system, it looks to be WB Games’ answer to the upcoming Marvel: Avengers game, which has a similar system, in which each player’s chosen hero will be totally different to another players hero. What’s interesting is that, as you level up, so do your enemies, meaning you’ll have to think on your feet when facing foes.
Gotham Knights is slated for release in 2021, on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X
