Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell coming to VR

In a week where Sony took over most of the headlines, and everything else got put into the ‘will look at later’ pile, Ubisoft has announced that both, Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell will be coming to the Oculus VR system very soon.

The reveal was made as part of Facebook’s VR event, which took place earlier this week, stirring up excitement for fans of both franchises before offering absolutely no details what so ever.

What we do know is that both games will be developed by Ubisoft’s Red Storm studio in collaboration with Ubisoft Düsseldorf, Ubisoft Reflections, and Ubisoft Mumbai.

Whilst we may be waiting a while to hear any other news about these games, the reveal of Splinter Cell VR enough will entice long-suffering fans of the franchise, who haven’t had a proper game since Splinter Cell: Blacklist.

Looks like Sam’s finally coming out of retirement

The super-spy himself hasn’t had his own mainline game since then, with just cameo appearances in both Rainbow Six Siege and Elite Squad, although he is at least getting his own anime series on Netflix.

Hopefully, the wait won’t be too long before more details are announced.
