Analogue Pocket pre-orders sell out in 15 minutes

The Analogue Pocket, The stylish third-party handheld, capable of playing all your old Game Boy, Game Boy Colour and Game Boy Advance games, sold through its pre-order units in just 15 minutes… and it seems fans aren’t happy with many stating that more units should have been made available.

Announced via Analogue’s Twitter, the retro gaming company have said that they will be producing more units as the official release date gets closer, but due to the ongoing global pandemic, it seems that demand may have outstripped pre-order supply.

Many potential buyers also claim that they ran into issues with Analogue’s shipping calculator, meaning that, by the time the calculation was complete, the pre-order had already sold out, with some pre-orders appearing for inflated prices on auction sites, just minutes after going on sale. These have since been taken down at time of writing.

Analouge did respond to these comments by stating that:

“Shopify’s shipping calculator was slowed down by immense traffic – we’ll have a solution in the future. We apologize to those who experienced this issue.”

It looks like if you want to get hold of a Pocket, you’ll have to wait till May 2021, when the handheld officially goes on sale for a modest $200 (That’s £155 currently).
