A new live-action Pokemon series is reportedly in development at Netflix.
According to Variety, the new series will be akin to Detective Pikachu, the live-action film released in 2019 and starring Ryan Reynolds as the loveable electric rat.
The series itself will be headed up by Joe Henderson, who currently serves as co show-runner and executive producer for the popular Netflix series ‘Lucifer’.
Now, it is early days for this project, so as usual, there is no date, no cast, no story, not even the slightest detail about the series, and as always, it hasn’t officially been announced by Netflix, its best to take this news with a pinch of salt.
Although saying that, Netflix does currently have numerous video game tie in projects in the works including *deep breath*, multiple Resident Evil projects, Far Cry, Splinter Cell and Assassin’s Creed, not to mention Series 2 of The Witcher, so they definitely have a nice little stack there for us to binge when they get released.
With Netflix currently streaming multiple seasons of the Pokemon anime, including the OG, and best, Indigo season it seems a logical decision for Netflix to make.
