It seems Ubisoft hasn’t forgotten about Splinter Cell after all.
It looks like a new Splinter Cell has accidentally been confirmed by Sam Fisher’s Italian Voice Actor Luca Ward.
In an interview with Multplayer.ie, Ward seems to accidentally let it slip that he has been working on ‘a conclusive episode’ of the much-loved stealth spy series:
“There is this return of Splinter Cell that is supposed to be a conclusive episode, but I’m not sure about this part, however, they have not yet figured out whether to do it in 2021...It was going to release in 2020, and then COVID-19 happened…But I am sure that Splinter Cell will return, this is a fact.”
I don’t need carrots to see in the dark
Given Ubisoft’s habit of leaking information (I mean Ubisoft has more leaks than a submarine with a window open), this could, in fact, be true. The last time we saw poor Sam Fisher was back in 2013 for Blacklist and he’s been pretty quiet ever since, excluding a cameo in the trailer for the upcoming Mobile Game Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad, so it would be a welcomed return for the super spy.
Of course, Ward could just be stirring the pot, but we will have to wait and see if the next Ubisoft Forward reveals anything.
