Recently, Halo Infinite has been back in the news for all the wrong reasons.
Despite Halo Infinite having promises of live service/multiplayer content, little has emerged thus far.
This is despite the game being six months post-launch.
And, it’s actually worse than some might have initially thought.
343 community manager/developer Brian Jarrard took to Reddit to update the Infinite community;
“There are indeed a lot of challenges and constraints. We’re certainly not happy to be unable to meet player and community expectations, it’s a difficult situation that’s going to take the team time to work through. Right now the focus is on S2 and we’ll have more to share on that in the coming weeks. Meanwhile a lot of production planning, costing, planning, hiring, etc.. is all happening which doesn’t really lend to detailed regular updates. We understand the community is simply out of patience and frankly, I think understandably tired of words. We just need some time for the team to get the details sorted and then we can certainly share as much as we can”.
As many in the thread noted, 343 is still only looking at a production planning, costing, and hiring stage with regards to the live-services content.
Again, this is six months after the game launched.
Of course, the game still has its fans and dedicated community.
Despite the above issues, 343 has also issued a new blog post for Halo Waypoint. The post updates the community on the Season 1 outcomes, and details some fixes coming in Season 2.
Amongst the new additions – please check the Waypoint for full details – Season 2 will see a new arena map (“Catalyst”), a new Big Team Battle map (“Breaker”), and more.
However, there doesn’t appear to be any new weapons or armours announced.
We’ll see how/if 343 improves the situation in the coming weeks. Season 2 is scheduled for launch 3rd May.
