2K Finally Respond to WWE 2K20 Debacle

Many fans of this year’s WWE 2K game have resorted to viral campaigns in a bid to get 2K to rectify the horrible release of 2K20. “#FixWWE2K20” was trending shortly after release, with dozens of players uploading buggy gameplay and messed up mechanics. Sony has even stepped in to offer refunds to unhappy customers.

It took 2K three whole days to post a response on the issues that had been circling around. Here’s what they had to say on the matter.

“We are listening closely to the feedback that’s been shared regarding WWE 2K20 and are aware of the concerns of some players are reporting. We’re working hard to investigate these concerns and address them as necessary. We expect to have an initial patch ready in the next two weeks, with others to follow.”

A Community Outraged

Whilst it took 2K a while to address the subject, Twitter users were quick to jump on the publishers.

One user replied saying, “Two weeks is a long time in terms of game patching”

“What’s frustrating is it took you guys 4 days to make a statement but y’all tweeted on about an irrelevant tournament when out games are broken,” another responded.

“$90+ spent on something we cannot play. As customers we deserve better and trust has been irreparably damaged.”

2K’s lack of an apology arguably may have made things worse for many fans, and time will tell if the damage has already been done. Faith probably won’t be easy to restore for many who paid out for the Special and Collector’s Editions. And even if it is – somehow – how long will it be until the game is properly fixed? As mentioned previously, I normally purchase or get given the year’s WWE game as a gift annually. This time, however, I doubt I’ll even bother.
